JILL MANGES SMITH   Director / Writer/ Producer / Music Supervisor / Singer-Songwriter

Born and raised in Los Angeles, the daughter of pioneer Hollywood make-up artist,

Dee Manges, Jill spent much of her childhood on movie sets and in the make-up trailer. Discovering early on a passion for music, she began singing professionally, and by the age

of nineteen was signed to a record deal and found herself between LA & and NYC recording with artists such as Cameo (including the Platinum selling #1 song “Word Up”), Bobby Caldwell, Lenny Kravitz & Bobby Brown. Later that same year an introduction to Miles Davis

put her creative instincts to the test, as Jill introduced Miles to music, artists, and producers- with several of her recommendations leading to production and live collaborations for Davis, including what became her namesake song "Jilli".

With unique and varied music experience, Jill easily made the transition from the record business to music supervision for film & TV. As an independent Music "Supe", she has worked

on features, network and cable series for ABC, CBS, NBC & Showtime, Web series, and MFTV original movies for NBC, A&E, Hallmark, including 16 Disney Channel originals. Her latest supervision projects are both recent film festival, award winning feature documentaries: "Betye Saar: Ready To Be A Warrior" and "Wild Beauty: Mustang Spirit of The West".

In addition to collaborating on music production for Film & TV (Score/Songs/Supervision) with her business partner/husband, award-winning Composer, Stanley A. Smith- via their longstanding successful music production company & studio- Standard Music, Jill is also writing, directing and co-producing the duo's first documentary, "Make-Up Women-Glamour & Guts"- a passion project about Hollywood's very first union make-up women, featuring her mother. Their doc project, a Sundance Institute & Women In Film Lab selection, inspired the launch of the duo's companion- Standard Entertainment film production company.

Passionate about storytelling and eager to expand her repertoire Jill has also directed and shot (on iPhone) "One Theme", a hybrid-music-interactive short, and a "BLM Protest" music video both featuring Stanley.
